To protect your boat, RV or automobile, we also have vehicle storage at many locations.

  • What security features do you offer at your storage facilities?

At Pockit Self Storage we are committed to keeping your belongings safe and secure. Most of our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art security features such as electronic doors and gates with keypad controlled access, monitored video surveillance, fenced and well-lit facilities, individual door alarms and personal high-security unit locks available for purchase. These features vary by location, so contact your nearest Pockit Self Storage location for specific details.

  • When can I move in?

If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime during normal business hours.

  • What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?

We require two valid pieces of government-issued ID, of which one must include a photo (example driver’s license or passport). For more information about acceptable forms of ID, please contact the rental office at your nearest Pockit Self Storage location.

  • Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

You will need to sign a rental agreement at the time you move in, however our units are rented on a month-to-month basis which allows customers maximum flexibility to rent for whatever time period is needed. This means that you have the freedom to rent a storage unit for as little or as long as you wish.

  • Can I reserve a storage unit?

Yes, the quickest and easiest way to reserve a unit is online where you will find some of our best deals. Or, you can also reserve a unit in person or by calling your nearest Pockit Self Storage location. Our friendly staff will be happy to assist you in whichever way is more convenient for you. While having a credit card will make payments easier for you, we do not require a credit card to reserve or to make a payment.

  • What are my payment options?

In-person payments can be made with cash, cheque, debit or credit card. We also offer safe and secure payments online in the "My Account" section of our website. • How do I know how much storage space I will need?

Our storage unit sizes range from approximately 5'x5' to 10'x30' with even larger units available at certain locations. We suggest using our Storage Calculator on our website or contacting the nearest Pockit Self Storage location to speak with one of our friendly staff members for assistance.

  • Should I get an indoor or outdoor unit?

Many of our locations offer both indoor and outdoor storage units to suit your preference. Indoor storage units are located inside of a building. We offer wide, well-lit hallways for your convenience when storing indoors. If you are storing large or heavy items such as furniture, it may be easier to drive up to an outdoor storage unit.

  • Do you have climate-controlled units?

Yes. Many of our locations offer climate-controlled storage units, which maintain a set temperature range to protect your belongings from the extremes of cold, heat and humidity. When you need to store electronics, photos, artwork, or other family goods that may be affected by extreme temperatures, climate-controlled units are the way to go.

  • When can I access my storage unit?

At Pockit Self Storage you can access your storage unit 365 days a year between 6am-10pm or request to be qualified for 24-hours access. Your assigned access code allows you entrance to the storage facility to access your unit. If you require assistance, please visit during our regular office hours and one of our friendly staff members will be happy to assist you.

  • What happens if I need more or less space after I move in?

Contact one of our friendly staff members for assistance so they can check availability of other sizes in the facility.

  • Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

You are prohibited from storing any items that are explosive, flammable, odorous, hazardous, corrosive or perishable. These items can include food, drinks, fireworks, propane tanks, chemicals, etc. If you feel you have an item that may be classified as prohibited but are unsure, please contact one of our friendly staff members for clarification.

  • Do the storage units have electrical outlets?

  • Am I required to provide proof of insurance for my storage unit?

Yes, proof of insurance coverage is required. Unfortunately, most homeowner or renter's insurance doesn't cover stored items. Although Pockit Self Storage provides peace of mind with state-of-the-art security systems at our facilities, the goods that you place in storage are always your responsibility. Pockit Self Storage offers up to $20,000 coverage at an affordable rate to cover your goods in the case of fire, damage or theft. • How much notice needs to be given before I move out?

All contracts are on a month-to-month basis but you can vacate your storage unit anytime you choose. We ask that you provide us with 2 days’ verbal or written notice at the location where you rent. You can do this by simply informing one of our friendly staff members. There is no additional paperwork you’ll need to fill out. Once you’ve removed all your items from storage, please remember to take your lock with you, so that we know you are no longer using the storage unit. Thanks for storing with us and please keep us in mind the next time you need a self storage unit.

  • Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?

Yes. All Pockit Self Storage locations offer a wide variety of boxes and packing supplies that are available for purchase. We also have compiled a list of packing and storage tips to help you as you prepare to store your valuables.

  • Do you have dollies or moving carts available at your facility?

  • What happens when my rent payment is late?

Your monthly rent is due the first of each month. We have a five day grace period before charging a late fee. On the 6th day, your account will be delinquent, and the late fee will be assessed. Late fees cannot be waived and the full balance must be paid immediately to avoid foreclosure. Please also note that until your account is paid in full, access to your unit may be denied, your gate code access is removed and your unit will be over-locked.

  • If my account goes delinquent, will my belongings go to auction?

At Pockit Self Storage we will make best efforts to try to contact any customer with a delinquent account before any steps are taken toward an auction. As a tenant, you are responsible for maintaining current and accurate contact information so we can keep communication open. Paying your bill on time is also your responsibility. If we cannot contact you, or if payment cannot be resolved, auction proceedings may be next. The length of time for a delinquent account to be placed in auction varies. We recommend that you contact the facility manager as soon as possible if your payment is late. We will provide written notice to your email address or physical address listed on your account when required by law.

  • What happens if my belongings go to auction?

Once the unit is sold at auction, the proceeds are applied to your outstanding balance. If the proceeds are higher than the amount due, a cheque for the difference will be sent to the original person leasing the storage unit. If the proceeds are lower than the outstanding balance the account will be sent to collections.
